Virtual Consultation

During times of uncertainty, it’s up to all of us to help support one another and protect one another. The COVID-19 pandemic has led us to unprecedented changes in the way we live our lives and in the way that many medical clinics are offering services, Journey Clinic included. While changes are necessary, we also know that the services Journey Clinic offers to our community are essential. By offering virtual consultations, we are able to limit the amount of time and people in our building in order to protect against the spread of COVID-19, while continuing to offer essential and time-sensitive services.

So what will your appointment at Journey Clinic look like?

The first thing you will do is complete our intake process. An email will be sent to you that will allow you to complete the entire intake process online. The great thing about this is you can fill it out any time before your appointment, and the entire process is HIPAA compliant, which means we take your privacy seriously. You will also receive an invitation from us for the virtual consultation that will include instructions on how to access the virtual consultation room.

Your appointment will start with a Virtual Consultation through a platform called doxy.me. Doxy.me is a HIPAA compliant, tele-consulting platform that is simple to use. By clicking a link provided for you when you schedule your appointment, you will join a private, virtual consultation room. There is no need to create an account or share any of your personal information. Your advocate will meet you in the virtual consultation room, review your intake form with you, and answer any question you may have. We are also able to talk with you about your pregnancy options, providing information and resources about your options and provide a nurse consultation. We are also able to provide our patients with a pregnancy verification for those trying to apply for Medicaid.

As we wrap up your virtual consultation, we will set a time for you to come to our clinic for your pregnancy test. Many times, we are able to do that right after your virtual consultation. You will also receive an explanation of what the process will be and what you can expect when you get to Journey Clinic. All staff you interact with will be wearing masks, and, thanks to generous donations from the community, you will be provided with a cloth mask to wear while at Journey Clinic that is yours to keep!

We have outlined our response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the step we are taking to keep our patients and staff safe, you can read that here. We are available to answer questions over the phone. Please feel free to call us at 385-383-7144.
